Move over Sarah Palin….

Meet Michele Bachman, 53, a Republican congresswoman from Minnesota

She lambasts President Barack Obama as a socialist.

She is hated by liberals.

She campaigned vociferously against the economic stimulus package.

She has attacked global warming by saying that carbon dioxide emissions are a natural part of the atmosphere. “Carbon dioxide is not a harmful gas, it is a harmless gas,” she said.

She has fed into fears of a violent backlash against Obama by saying that “having a revolution every now and then is a good thing”.

She has spoken of “gangster government” in a speech viewed more than two million times on the internet.

She has dubbed Obama’s plans to increase AmeriCorps – a government volunteer service group – as a plan to forcibly indoctrinate young people.

At a recent event in Colorado on healthcare reform, she told her audience: “What we have to do today is make a covenant, to slit our wrists, be blood brothers on this thing. This will not pass. We will do whatever it takes to make sure this doesn’t pass.”

She is extremely socially conservative, strongly opposing abortion and gay marriage, and deeply religious, describing herself as a “fool for Christ”.

In the short space of a couple of years Bachmann had gone from obscure congresswoman to national media figure.

Could she succeed where Palin failed? (full story HERE)

  1. But can she field-dress a moose? I’m sure that’s the question that’ll be on everyone’s lips.. ;)

  2. Bill Kristol-Balls

    Is this 1/4?

    Bats*** Bachman?

The women who tried to raise a scare about Obama’s “re-education camps” only to find out that her son had signed up to one…

Stroll on, she’ll be lucky to get re-elected

  3. Wow the republicans really are where the Tories were in 97. Gasp as they churn out unelectable extremist authoritarian leaders like IDS, Hague and Howard! Be awed as these sock puppets play to the base (“24 hours to save the pound!”)! Swoon as this is represented as a small-government, pro-Christian, vaguely theocratic ‘traditional’ conservatism!

Then laugh as they fail to convince centrists that they are fit for more than propping open a church door.

  4. I like her idea about slitting her wrists..

  5. Great stuff. Great to see this happening. I really do believe that both on our side of the pond, through Hannan and AA and over there through their better organized way, the tide might just be turning for the better.

  6. Can we persuade her to come over here and take over from Cameron? I’d vote for her.

  7. Palin has not failed. She is just starting. That said, Bachman is also to be commended.

  8. And she is also an advocate of creationism …

    Another anti-science nutter
