According to the Daily Mail, “The payout is expected to reduce the actor’s overall wealth to around £10 million” which does indicate the terrible level of hardship he is going through.
The man will hardly be on homeless on the street, totally broke though! Agree it’s rather harsh*, as they were no children produced, but more fool him for not having a pre-nup before getting hitched to her.
*according to her Wiki entry, she was living in a council flat in London when they met. I wonder what she saw in the multi-millionaire knocking-60 Mr Cleese…
