Quote of the day

“I am not saying Susan Boyle caused swine flu. I am just saying that nobody had swine flu, she sang on TV, people got swine flu”

- what Labour MP Sion Simon, a Further Education minister, wrote on his Twitter page. He later apologised.

  1. I actually thought that was quite funny, but I suppose it serves him right for belonging to a Party that has done so much to obliterate humour from our lives.

  2. As Mark says I thought it was an alright joke.

Don’t get me wrong I’ve thought that Sion Smon is a pillock since the days when he was writing paeons on praise to New Labour in the Telegraph and Spectator back in the 1990s, but the reaction against his joke is a little ott.

  3. I’m wondering if I should be offended on her behalf,it feels like the right thing to do.

  4. The Daily Mail doesn’t think it was that funny!

And he is a pillock. His recent performance on the Today programme was hilariously awful. I for one will definitely be feeling offended on Susan’s behalf and I’m sure Jacqui Smith will not have been impressed when she read this tweet from her secret underground snooper-force headquarters.

Sion Simon is just an out and out unfunny Labour prick. How he became a MP I don’t know. He must have done some serious arse kissing to get a safe Labour seat or else he has some dirt on some cabinet member, or senior Labour player?

Replace Susan Boyle with any so-called derogatory ethnic minority or gay term and what would have happened?

Oh silly me…he is Labour so can get away with anything.

  7. It’s actually quite funny imho.

But if you sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind.
