Jacqui Smith has apologised, saying in a statement that the claim had been a mistake and the money would be repaid. The £67 bill for ‘television services’ claimed under her Commons expenses included charges for two pay-per-view films labelled “Additional Features” - a euphemism for adult films used on bills to avoid embarrassment. Films were allegedly ordered on April 1 and April 6 last year, when she was not at her family home. “All money claimed for the television package will be paid back in full, ” Jacqui Smith insisted.

Should we not ask who spotted the euphemism, and ask them how they knew what it really meant?
The only ‘mistake’ made was being caught out.

Surely everyone knows the euphemism, or will her husband follow Jacqui’s examples and say that he did not break any rules despite burning a hole in the taxpayers’ wallet?
One wonders how many ‘mistakes’ Jacqui Smith will be allowed to get away with by Gordo.
What do you expect when you have a leader who claims for light bulbs – do these people not pay for anything themselves?

Considering El Gordo’s failing eyesight, will he be able to read once 100W bulbs are removed from sale by the end of the year? That would be ironic indeed – in the land of the blind, the one eyed man would be king, had he not passed laws to preclude the use of his one eye…
Mind you, this probably does give some credence to Jackboot’s claim that she spends most nights at her sister’s pad…
