    Is this to do with looks or practicality! I’d much rather have a polite jolly rotund stewardess than a dour, cranky thin one.

    If it’s for practicality that that is more understandable – there isn’t much room in the aisle and they might have to pay for the extra weight. I once had to be weighed to get on a flight – it was a most distressing occasion!

    According to the article, it’s in their contract that they have to remain slim because the job is so physically active!

    Surely if the job was phsically active they would be staying slim. I also wonder what they were eating to make them so larger – it’s not as if aeroplane food tastes nice!
