Thought for the day

Although some people seem to have forgotten this, Christmas is historically a Christian festival.  As a result, it always brings a warm fuzzy glow to my heart when this time of year is filled to the brim with Christians really putting that whole ‘love thy neighbour’ thing into practice.

  1. oh no its not! christmas as a festival was celebrated in Europe long before it was usurped by christians.

  2. But surely it still has Christian roots – you know, the whole Jesus thing?! Am happy to be corrected on historical issues….

  3. The festival of Yule was a Pagan festival. And to pacify the Pagans the Christians just altered an already existing holiday. No-one would like a new religion with less holidays!

I hate religion, it’s unbelievable that these mad lonely old men can’t just accept that they too are gay (most of them probably are!) and just get on with either helping to create a happier world or shut up and stop preaching hatred.
