You couldn’t make it up

This fairly unremarkable picture is of the new Olympic Broadcast Center in Beijing run by China’s biggest  television station called China Central Television, which will dedicate 3,000 staff and seven entire channels to the games.

What I didn’t realise was the most amusing irony that China Central Television (which is run by the government) produces when you convert the name of the station into an acronym: CCTV.  You couldn’t make it up.

    Your council tax is clearly being put to excellent use, and so are your parking fines, bin fines, walking fines, breathing fines…
