Your favourite newspaper, The Independent, has a feature on presidents’ wives recipes down the years. It was quite interesting.

I’ll be making some of those, possibly, though I’ll keep away from M. Obama’s offering, because it contains amaretto, which used to be a staple of mine in my student days until it just battered my head through drinking too much of the shyte. Like Southern Comfort, I’ll never go back.
