“He is not going to wait at the phone like a high-school girl waiting for a date”

- an aide to Barack Obama suggesting that the Democrat hopeful for the White House might declare victory over Hillary Clinton before she formally concedes

Is that because you’re going to savour the moment when Hillary concedes defeat?

  3. Oh, I’m going to savour all the moments!

The shrieking and the hair-pulling, the frantic dealing to get Hillary’s voters onside, the revelations of yet more skeletons in the Obamassiah’s closet, the unravelling of his ‘policies’…

It’s going to be a great piece of entertainment :)

  4. The thing is, when you look at and compare both of them… well
Hillary is the one I think could order someone whacked

  5. Personally I’m dismayed by the utter shite in the US presidential elections. It should be fairly obvious that I abhor the Republicans, so presumably I’ve got to be a Democrat.

But I’ve got authoritarian, warmongering Clinton who barely seems better than the Republicans (& is a lot more disagreeable to me than even Camoron etc), or Obama, whose views on any given subject are unknown, other than that he has expressed protectionist statements. Either he’s just spouting shite because he thinks people want to hear it (they probably do, but he should be standing up for free trade) or he actually believes it (in which case he’d cripple the economy, & is surely the exact opposite of a “patriot”).

At least Bill Clinton stood up for free trade, was as socially liberal as you can hope for in America, & was far better than Bush. I struggle to say that about Hillary or Obama.

    Bring back Edawards.

    PS-
We’re all used to the fatuousness, ignorance & general blankness of Obama supporters, but it should be made clear that most Clinton supporters are fairly repulsive too. They call themselves feminists & liberals, but they’ll betray everything they’ve ever said. Shameful bunch of dishonest tyrds.

Obama’s protectionism worries me a lot.

McCain’s idiocy, financial naivety and support for blowing things up also worries me a lot.

Clinton worries me a lot, but not for much longer.

  7. If Obama turned out not to be a protectionist (entirely possible, since his statements on the matter are vague in the extreme) would you incline to him then? I might, but talking utter bilge, in an either dishonest or ignorant way, is not something I’ve ever found endearing.

I think that he has been desperate to remain non-commital on as many issues as possible. He voted against the Iraq war and has been keen to point that out at every opportunity, but his economic and healthcare policies still leave me with a bad feeling. Having said that, both he and McCain look like they have plenty of reasons to get shot down judging from their list of policies thus far.

Obama’s positive and less aggressive attitude towards the problems in the Middle East and Iran has given me cause for encouragement, though.

  9. “Obama’s positive and less aggressive attitude towards the problems in the Middle East…”

Oh, you must mean this attitude… ;)

Yup, that’s one way to ‘adopt a tough tone after a chief rival accuses you of naivete in foreign policy’ alright….

In the same article: “[Obama] would be willing to meet the leaders of Iran, Cuba, Syria, North Korea and Venezuela without preconditions in his first year in office”, which I very much agree with.

If you check my ‘Why I write this blog’ section, you will see that I fundamentally believe in stopping terrorism through talking to people, not blowing them up. Contrast that with McCain and Clinton.

And I’m sure Obama says that, now. Especially after the furore surrounding his attitude to Pakistan.

Why, it’s almost as if he didn’t know anything about Pakistan when he said it… ;)
