Gordon Brown’s School of International Relations 2008 (continued)
Welcome back to Gordon Brown’s School of International Relations, where we teach aspiring politicians how to behave towards our international counterparts on the basis of how Our Great Leader deals with them. In the first lesson in the series just ten days ago, we learned how to induce despair, boredom and disgust when talking to other countries. Now we must turn our attention to dealing with nations on a collective basis – on this occasion, at the United Nations. Watch carefully as we learn from Our Great Leader’s trip to the Security Council two days ago, and remember to take notes.
Lesson number one: feel free to look completely uninterested in what your colleagues are saying. Let’s face it, the United Nations is a bit of a joke anyway.
Lesson number two: if you’re feeling a little tired, feel free to announce this to the entire congregation in spectacular style. They won’t be offended, honestly.
Lesson number three: if it all gets a little too much, please don’t feel that you have to give a good impression of our country in international circles and just let yourself drift away…
Here endeth the lesson.
